Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3: Runners

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 introduces a brand-new season called Runners. After the Zero Point cracked open the sky, the island changed into a new map called the Shattered Coast. Players can explore new locations, use new weapons, and try a completely new game mechanic involving powerful creatures called Sprites.

A New Island

The Shattered Coast features several new areas.

What Are Sprites?

Sprites are special creatures that give players unique powers. During a match, players can find a Sprite and carry it to an Extraction Site. If they successfully defend the site until the timer ends, they permanently add that Sprite to their collection.

However, if a player is eliminated before completing the extraction, another player can steal the Sprite.

Different Sprites provide different abilities. For example:

• Earth Sprite helps players find better loot.

• Fire Sprite creates an explosion when enough damage is dealt.

• Water Sprite restores shields while the player is in water.

• Ghost Sprite can make players temporarily invisible.

• Dream Sprite can provide valuable loot rewards.

Sprite Dust and Leveling

Successful extractions reward players with Sprite Dust. This special currency can be used in future matches to summon Sprites before the game begins.

Sprites can also gain levels through:

• Exploring the map

• Opening chests

• Eliminating opponents

• Extracting Sprites

New Extraction Tools

The season also introduces new items called Gizmos.

• Portable Extractor: Allows players to extract a Sprite anywhere on the island.

Several new weapons arrive this season:

A New Way to Win

Later in the season, Fortnite will introduce Bus Exfil.

In some matches, the Battle Bus will return near the end of the game. Teams can escape by reaching and boarding the bus. If at least one teammate successfully boards, the team wins the match. Unlike traditional Victory Royales, multiple teams may be able to win using Bus Exfil.
